John Laurenzi’s talents as an artist began to flourish after his transition from the corporate world of marketing to one that allowed him to pursue his true passion of painting. As a child he exhibited a natural talent to draw anything he could observe and some things that came from his unique imagination. His artistic talents often took the form of sales and marketing programs which he designed and implemented for a large corporation. He never had much time to truly pursue the field of painting except for small works for family and friends. Since his transition he now exhibits his talents in different formats. Rather than concentrating on a single style, Laurenzi’s art follows whatever feels good. He paints everything from realistic portraits to the human figure to abstract musicians and more. In the past several years his works have been exhibited in solo shows and several galleries in the Hudson Valley area of New York. He constantly pursues new ideas as displayed in his recent sphere paintings which are suspended from a ceiling as if they are drifting in space. Laurenzi’s paintings are in private collections throughout the East Coast. He was recently listed in the Art in America Guide to galleries, museums, artists 2005-2006 museum preview which is the sourcebook to the United States art world.
